Allow Us to Reintroduce Ourselves
Hey there, thanks for stopping by!
I thought I would jump back into blogging and make it a little more personal by introducing my little family (little for now 😉). Since many exciting topics to come will consist of real estate, home projects, house décor, and DIY; I thought it would be appropriate to share a bit of who we are and what we are passionate about.
For those of you who don’t personally know us (yet!), we are the Moi's. Our family consists of Sven the carpenter- @carpenter_sven, Kimi the realtor- @kimipohlmanmoi, and our loveable seven year old lab Gunner. Sven and I tied the knot in May 2020, right smack in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Wedding planning during a pandemic could be its own blog post!
We both grew up on (what the greater Seattle area calls) the Eastside. I was born and raised on the Sammamish plateau, and Sven bounced around Redmond, Woodinville, and Bellevue. I spent four years at the University of Washington playing for their softball team, while Sven joined the Marine Corps and went off to serve our country. Life had ebbed and flowed for the both of us; until Sven asked me to dance with him at a mutual friends’ wedding, and then by the grace of God, after that first dance, we have been inseparable ever since.
After exploring a couple different job options, I have found my dream career path. I chose to become a real estate agent to help my family and friends with all their home buying and selling needs. I take pride in offering a full spectrum of services. I often find myself being a negotiator, advisor, therapist, design consultant, area expert, chauffeur, mediator, mover, etc. I also have worked hard to cultivate relationships with some of the best home builders in the area, allowing me to represent beautiful new construction luxury homes and fill my design brain with all sorts of inspiration.
Sven on the other hand, has been honing his craft as a finish carpenter for the past four years. He grew up in a construction family and he saw first-hand how you can take someone’s idea and create a space that allows their home to feel more complete. After working alongside a skilled mentor, he just started his own venture to continue creating beautiful decks, fireplaces, built ins, and accent walls. While wood working is his forte, he is ultimately a jack of all trades. If he doesn't know how to do something, he will figure out a way to get the job done.
We are both so grateful that you took a couple minutes out of your day to learn more about our new endeavor. Here we aim to provide insight into each of our crafts, as well as bring you along on our home remodeling journey. The beginning of which will be posted in just a couple of weeks :)
